- Now Online: New Survey and Interactive Tools for Building Climate Resilience in the Delta
In recognition of Delta Week and Climate Week NYC, the Delta Stewardship Council is pleased to share an opportunity to take a survey and two new interactive resources as part of our climate change initiative, Delta Adapts. This initiative takes a comprehensive, regional approach to climate resiliency that cuts across regional boundaries and fosters collaboration across federal, tribal, state, regional, and local partners.
- Now Available: The 2025 State of Bay-Delta Science - Part 2
Part 2 of the 2025 State of Bay-Delta Science is now available online in the San Francisco Estuary and Watershed Science (SFEWS) journal’s latest issue. In whole, this edition includes seven articles summarizing the state of the science on climate change and extreme events, social and ecological impacts, and climate governance and adaptation strategies in the Bay-Delta and its watershed. Articles have been released across two issues of SFEWS in 2025. Part 1 included four articles: an introduction to the edition written by the editorial board, and three focused review articles covering climate governance, droughts, and heatwaves.

The Delta Stewardship Council’s monthly meetings are the definitive place for the public to learn about and comment on the implementation of the Delta Plan.
Our next meeting will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 9:30 AM, at the California Natural Resources Agency (715 P Street, Sacramento, CA 95814).

The Coequal Goals
The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code Section 85054)
