Delta Independent Science Board Reviews Staff Drafts of Delta Plan
The Delta Independent Science Board (ISB) discussed Chapter 2, Science and Adaptive Management for a Changing Delta, of the second staff draft of the Delta Plan during its April 7-8 meeting. The Delta ISB began preparing review comments which the board will present to the Delta Stewardship Council (DSC) at the April 28-29 Council meeting. The second staff draft of the Delta Plan was released on March 18, 2011.
The first staff draft of the Delta Plan was released Feb. 14, 2011. The Delta ISB reviewed the first staff draft and submitted its review to the DSC at the March 24-25 Council meeting.
The third staff draft of the Delta Plan is slated to be released April 22 with the Delta ISB reviewing and presenting its comments to the DSC at the May 26-27 Council meeting.
The Delta Plan is a comprehensive management plan for the Delta that will guide state and local agencies to help achieve the coequal goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place.
