Science in Action
The mission of the Delta Science Program shall be to provide the best possible unbiased scientific information to inform water and environmental decision making in the Delta. That mission shall be carried out through funding research, synthesizing and communicating scientific information to policymakers and decision makers, promoting independent scientific peer review, and coordinating with Delta agencies to promote science-based adaptive management. The Delta Science Program shall assist with development and periodic updates of the Delta Plan's adaptive management program. California Water Code Section 85280(b)(4)

An independent science panel has produced a report after reviewing the implementation of actions required by the Endangered Species Act for salmon, steelhead, green sturgeon, and Delta smelt to operate the State and Federal Water Projects.

Delta Plan in Action
Unanimously adopted by the Delta Stewardship Council on May 16, 2013, the Delta Plan is now being implemented with the support of the Delta Plan Interagency Implementation Committee, which includes the heads of more than a dozen State and federal agencies. The Plan is a comprehensive, long-term management plan for the Delta designed per the Delta Reform Act to further the state’s coequal goals for the Delta.
