Get Involved

The Delta Stewardship Council is committed to ensuring that the development process of the Delta Plan is completely transparent to the people of California.

One fundamental way of maintaining that transparency is by engaging in a thorough two-way dialogue with everyone who relies on water in this state – from drinking water to irrigation to recreation.  That’s why we encourage you, your family, and your friends to become
involved in the conversation.
The Council members and their staff pursue as many avenues as possible to send information and receive input from members of the public. On these pages, you will find methods of staying up to date on the Council’s activities through our newsletters as well as our postings on Twitter and Facebook.  More importantly we invite you to send us your comments by selecting the Submit Comments tab above.
Thank you for your interest in the Delta Stewardship Council and its development of the Delta Plan. We sincerely look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Coequal goals

The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code §85054)
