Scientists, science-policy experts, and stakeholders will gather for a two-day workshop to better understand how collaborative science is being managed, funded, and communicated in several high-profile ecosystems around the country. The program is designed to identify common themes and differences in the approaches being used across the systems, and to provide a foundation for discussion of how to best provide science support to managers working to improve the long-term health and viability of the nation’s high-profile ecosystems.

Coequal goals

The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code §85054)
