The Scoping Meeting for Delta Plan Amendment and the Public Comment Period for the NOP Have Concluded

The Delta Stewardship Council, pursuant to CEQA guidelines, hosted a public scoping meeting on Friday, March 24, 2017 to receive oral and written comments for the Council’s preparation of a Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for proposed amendments to the Delta Plan in three areas:

  • Delta Levee Investment and Risk Reduction Strategy
  • Delta Conveyance, Storage, and Operations
  • Performance Measures

Coequal goals

The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code §85054)
