- Now Available: Progress Snapshot for the 2022-2026 Science Action Agenda
The Science Action Agenda (SAA) is a four-to five-year document that prioritizes and aligns science actions to inform management decisions, identifies major gaps in knowledge, promotes collaborative science, and builds science infrastructure for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. It guides the Delta Stewardship Council’s funding decisions, including competitive research solicitations and directed actions, as well as other programmatic efforts, such as the Delta Synthesis Working Groups. It is also intended to be used by the Delta community to unify and catalyze Delta science. The 2022-2026 SAA presents 25 priority science actions that help address management needs and fulfill objectives of the Delta Science Plan.
- December 2025 Meetings
The Delta Independent Science Board and the Delta Stewardship Council will hold the following public meetings this month. In accordance with the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act, meeting notices detailing agendas, public comment opportunities, logistics, and more will be posted on our events web page 10 days prior. Revised notices will be issued if changes arise.
- Notice of December 5 Delta ISB Meeting and Public Comment Opportunity Extension
The Delta Independent Science Board will hold a public planning retreat on December 5, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Ryde Hotel (14340 State Hwy 160, Ryde, CA 95680). Board members will discuss current and future reviews and activities, set priorities for 2026, and hear an update from the California Department of Water Resources on implementing the Cyanobacteria Harmful Algal Bloom Monitoring Strategy for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
The Coequal Goals
The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code Section 85054)
