12th Biennial State of the San Francisco Estuary Conference - Sept. 17-18, 2015

Every two years, the San Francisco Estuary Partnership brings a focus on the management and ecological health of the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary by hosting the State of the Estuary Conference. This conference showcases the latest information about the estuary’s changing watersheds, impacts from major stressors, recovery programs for species and habitats, and emerging challenges and provides a biennial assessment of the ecological health of the Estuary by featuring over 80 presentations about the Bay, the Delta, and the State of the Estuary. The September 17th evening poster-session reception offers a chance to gather and talk informally with colleagues and other leaders engaged in current research and restoration activities.

Coequal goals

The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code §85054)
